MK5 Mondeo 180 2.0l TDCI Hi All, Thought I had found the collant loss i'd been having. I replaced the pipe that comes from the thermostat housing to the expansion bottle. It had been leaking at the thermostat housing.
The PCV on the duratec I4 engine,is i am pretty sure behind the inlet manifold,and it vents into the rear of the inlet manifold via a rubber hose,thats for the lower crankase ventilation,there is also upper crankcase ventilation,from the rear top right of the cam cover,that vents into the inlet air feed tube between the airfilter and throttle body.
The other thing worth mentioning is a solid blanking plate will "fix" a faulty or leaking EGR valve - the EGR becomes effectively "disabled" / non functional, - + it can't fail/ break again (makes the car/ engine more reliable) (its a mk3 Mondeo with a duratorque (Ford) 2.2 155ps? not a Mk 4 with a PSA engine)
